Who's this?
I'm John McInnes,
a New Zealander, a writer, blogger, indoor and outdoor bowler, dog walker, percussionist, retired busker, retired trout fisherman, retired croquet player, husband, father, grandfather, Celtic Christian, Christian socialist and thinker about the world!
Please come into this website and meet me.
I live in Ngaio (don't sound the 'g'), a suburb of New Zealand's capital city, Wellington - 'the coolest little capital in the world' according to Lonely Planet.
This picture (click to highlight) was taken at the Crofton Downs coffee shop where I regulary meet with friends to discuss all sorts of issues with the aim of putting the world to rights!
If, when you've had a look around the site, you want to contact me, please email me at: [email protected]. I'm a member of Twitter, now X, a social network I joined to promote my blog. I also joined Facebook, though I’m rather a passive member.

I write a blog called Quiddity. It's a personal and social comment blog which I’ve been writing for seven years. ‘Quiddity' means 'essence'. I write about the essence of whatever topic I've chosen that week. A new post is uploaded every Friday afternoon after 4 pm New Zealand time. To find the blog just click here.
Thanks.
John.
